At the four day NCA team camp, the cheerleaders participated in a variety of judged performances, as well as a competition against other squads that were present. The Mena Varsity Cheer squad came away from camp with one Red/Excellent Ribbon and six Blue/Superior Ribbons. They also received The Herkie Team Award for Leadership, Values, Teamwork, and Sportsmanship, and a Technical Excellence award for displaying superior skills in Motions. Although the MHS Cheer Squad will not be competing this year, they are looking forward to the opportunity to boost school spirit and a positive attitude towards everything Bearcat/Ladycat as well as TEAM Mena.
