BFI had the privilege of awarding two scholarships at the Mena Award Assembly. The winners were Ladycat Haley Montgomery and Ladycat Hattie Hunter, receiving a scholarship worth $2,000 each. Haley will be attending University of Arkansas Fayetteville in the fall, she has lettered in five sports during her high school career. Her Senior year she received Volleyball Honorable Mention All-Conference and was a part of the 2016 4A State Runner-Up Volleyball team. Hattie will be attending University of Arkansas Fayetteville in the fall, she has lettered in seven sports during her high school career. Her Senior year she received Volleyball All-Conference and was a part of the 2016 4A State Runner-Up Volleyball team and on two 4A State Championship Softball teams. Not only were these ladies decorated athletes but they also excelled in the classroom. Haley and Hattie will graduate with 4.0 GPA and ranked in the top 3rd and 1st of the graduating class. BFI takes great honor in being able to provide two scholarships each year to MHS athletes and we hope to be able to continue this tradition. #bearcatproud
